To conduct effective risk-based supervision, the bank supervisor needs a robust methodology and criteria to assess the comprehensive risk profile of banking institutions.
Through this course, participants will learn how to conduct this assessment by applying the CAMELS rating system, used by the Federal Reserve System of the United States of America.
Objective
The course combines both conceptual and practical approaches.
Through case studies, participants will simulate the experience of conducting a bank inspection.
Participants will work in teams to assess key qualitative and quantitative factors, and will assign ratings for each CAMELS rating component.
